MADDER HAUS

Madder Haus is a fourth-year capstone project exploring circular design, adaptive reuse, and the hidden lifecycle of the built environment. Inspired by the entertainment industry's constant creation and disposal of sets, furniture, and materials, the project proposes a new model for preservation and transformation through The Madder Cycle: a closed-loop system dedicated to collection, restoration, archival, and reuse.

Housed within a reimagined adaptation of Vancouver's historic Salt Building, relocated to Calgary's Culture + Entertainment District, Madder Haus brings together public retail, fabrication workshops, archival spaces, and creative industry resources under one roof. The project challenges conventional ideas of waste and value, positioning design as a catalyst for stewardship, storytelling, and material longevity.
